9K a year GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESL is seeking to hire a full-time field surveyor.
50-60% of time spent in the field and regional traveling, with balance of time spent in office work environment.
Due to nature of position, must be able to deal with meeting deadlines.
Some PPE required while in field.
Strict protocols on safety training will be followed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Coordinate, schedule with PLS & Energy Team Manager to assign individual job assignments and chart progress of overall deadlines.
Confirm and plan projects and the necessary communications protocols such as communication with the general public by scheduling appointments and conducting required interviews.
Oversee day to day happenings with clients Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with crew to chart progress of assignments, provide guidance and collect feedback for operations.
Follow specific instructions pertaining to the type of samples/data being collected which may involve aseptic techniques and client interviews.
Active in planning and implementation of new ideas or protocols as needed.
Perform data collection using surveyor equipment; GPS, data collectors etc.
Perform analysis of samples in the field including, but not limited to, pH, combustible gas index readings and flow readings.
Take digital photographs as required.
Review and complete appropriate related field paper work as required.
Comply with safety rules and regulations to include determining proper handling procedures of samples Follow ESL and client directed safety protocols.
Perform additional projects as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Basic PC skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft with focus on Excel.
Education in GIS, Geology, Geography or related discipline preferred but not necessary.
Experience with Autocad and/or Intellicad extremely important Familiar with google Earth, previous experience with ArcMap is preferred.
Strong attention to detail as well as good written and verbal communication and effective listening skills with the ability to follow instructions.
Ability to perform under pressure and withstand weather and field conditions.
Safe driving record imperative.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
